Backdrop is a lifestyle magazine published out of Ohio University. It is written, designed, edited and published entirely by OU students. In addition to our web content, we are the only on-campus magazine to publish four print issues a year. 

I was involved with Backdrop since my freshman year at Ohio University and wrote content for both web and print, including reviews, features, profiles, previews and recaps. I love finding and profiling interesting people in the Athens area. 

As managing editor, I was in charge of overseeing the magazine's entire editorial process, from story assignments to fact-checking. I also ran Backdrop's workshop for new writers every semester, where I worked one-on-one with students over several weeks to help them write their first Backdrop article.
